Bar sleeves, pulley horns and storage horns are all 50 mm — the same size that fits a 7 ft Olympic bar. If the hole in your plate measures 2 inches across, it fits the Z1.

Using 1″ standard plates? They won't fit without a sleeve adapter. Measure the hole in your plate before ordering — you need 2 inches / 50 mm.

Questions people ask

Will my plates fit?

If the hole measures 2 inches / 50 mm, yes — that's standard Olympic sizing, and it applies to the bar sleeves, the loading horns and the storage horns. Older 1″ standard plates need a sleeve adapter.

How much weight can it take?

We recommend up to 250 lb on the Smith bar, 250 lb on the pull-up bar, and 100 lb per loading horn. The Z1 is built for home and small-studio training. If you're pressing beyond that, look at our X-series.

What does the bar itself weigh?

Approximately 30 lb. On any Smith machine the counterbalance means the bar feels lighter than a free barbell, so your loaded number won't match your free-weight number.

Does it have to be bolted to the floor?

No. The Z1 is freestanding on its 47 × 47 in base and needs no floor anchors, so nothing gets drilled into a finished basement floor, a garage slab or a rented unit. Load the two storage horns and the base sits heavier still. Many commercial racks and functional trainers must be anchored before use — the Z1 does not.

Does the machine look exactly like the photos?

The photos show the Z1 accurately in size, layout and finish, and several of them are 3D renderings. Treat the specifications table and the included-attachments list as the definitive description of what ships — if a part appears in a rendering but is not named in those lists, it is not on the machine. If you want to check a specific detail, we will walk you through the actual unit on a WhatsApp video call at +1 855-396-9333 before you order.

Can I bench press in it?

Yes, with an adjustable bench (sold separately). The J-hooks and 9 lockout positions cover flat, incline and decline setups.

Do I need a spotter?

No. Set the Limit Device stops at your bottom position and the bar can't travel past it, so you can take a set to failure on your own.

Is assembly difficult?

No. One person can put the Z1 together — it isn't a complicated build, and every tool you need is in the box. A second pair of hands makes it quicker, mostly for lifting the top section into place.

Does it come with weights?

No — the Z1 is the frame. If you want a machine that arrives with plates or a stack included, look at the X2–X5.

Local delivery — if you're within 30 or 60 km of our Anjou
or Delta warehouse, our own truck delivers for a flat fee. Shown at checkout
if your address qualifies. Free pickup at both warehouses by appointment.

US customers — we ship DDP. Import duties, customs and
brokerage are prepaid by HAJEX and included in the shipping shown at checkout.
Nothing more to pay on delivery.

Heavy orders — above 800 lb in Canada, or 600 lb to the US,
you can request a freight quote instead. We'll find the best rate, or you can
use your own carrier.

Transit — Canada 1–7 business days depending on province.
US 4–11 business days depending on region. Add 1–2 business days handling.

Returns — 30 days from receipt. Change-of-mind returns are
issued as store credit and a restocking fee may apply. If we ever need to revise
your shipping or duty cost, you can cancel for a full refund with no restocking fee.
